PS3, no signal, HELP!?

Okay, my ps3 when on the hdmi input just says no signal even though everything is plugged in.

one thing i think when wrong was that i pulled out the hdmi cable and the gold outer platting of the cable came off and was stuck in the tv, i took it out and put it back on the cable and it says no signal.
ive even bought a new hdmi cable but it still says no signal.
can somebody please tell me what is wronf and how i can fix it ? or if i'll need to get it repaired? and if possible can you tell me how much it will cost and where.

thankyou in advance x

Connect your PS3 to your TV using a scart lead (the red, yellow and white sockets), and see if it works. If so, then your PS3 isn't configured to HDMI, go into Display Settings and then set it up via HDMI.
