Is 14 an appropriate age to start lacrosse?

I am thinking to do lacrosse as a freshman, it doesn't start until spring. But all my friends want me to do it, and I want to give it a try. But is 14 too late to learn? By the way, I swim a lot, so I have athleticism. But, I am not sure, how well I can do with a stick, and hand-eye coordination.

yeah, definitely, you might not be the best at first, because most of the team will have probably been playing since middle school, but lacrosse is not a hard sport to learn and you can quickly rise through the ranks. the fact that you swim alot is good because lacrosse is pretty demanding. just get out there and have fun. us laxers are a pretty nice bunch, too, so dont be afraid of rejection.
