Nick passed away on November 28, 2006 at the age of 21.While sick, Nicholas was relentless in his efforts to combat his affliction. He counseled fellow patients, continued to workout on a regular basis, and he even played in one last game in August of 2006. Nick also created the HEADstrong Foundation. It was his vision to share his illness with the public, to raise cancer awareness and to help others affected by the disease.Even though Nick is gone, his memory will live on forever through the HEADstrong Foundation.
